Running is a great way to stay fit, and with some gorgeous trails around St. Joseph, it's never been easier to get started. Trails offer ample opportunity for exercise and allow you to experience all the natural beauty of Western Michigan. Plus, we have trails for all skill levels!   • John & Dede Howard Trail - Park Street, St. Joseph, MI 49085
    This trail offers stunning views of Lake Michigan from above Lions Beach, which is great for biking and walking. John & Dede Howard Trail starts at the north end of State Street and runs parallel to the St. Joseph River. It's an easy walk, and parts of the trail have lighting. This hidden gem offers a 0.67-mile linear trail that winds through some local protected wetlands and savanna habitats. You're sure to witness tons of local wildlife, so be sure to snap a few pictures. Dogs are welcome, but must stay on a leash.

  • Royalton Township Nature Trail - Bacon School Road, St. Joseph, MI 49085
    This beautiful walking trail loops through local homes and runs along the St. Joseph River. Royalton Township Nature Trail has accessible parking, trash bins, doggie bags, and amazing views. The trail is made up of a well-maintained wooden walkway that provides an easy, flat surface.
