Downtown South Bend has so much to offer, you can easily spend an entire day exploring the city. Here are some great places to visit downtown.

Have you spent a day in Downtown South Bend? It's the perfect destination for a day out, especially if you want to shop for stylish clothes and decor, learn about the area, and eat some of the best food the city has to offer. Our real estate agents love exploring the downtown businesses and landmarks, and they recommend these stops for when you plan your day.

  • Inspire Me - 520 E. Colfax Ave
One of the top boutiques in the Michiana area, Inspire Me is where you want to be if you're looking for some new clothes or jewelry. The exterior and interior of their space are designed to reflect their identity and values: having a little bit of everything. Their clothing retains a hint of vintage styling while still being contemporary, so you're bound to find a piece that is timelessly fashionable. Match a sleek pair of pants with a colorful blouse, or pick up a stunning summer dress.
  • Howard Park - 219 S. St. Louis Blvd.
    Howard Park
is more than just a park. With a 13,000 square foot innovative playground, an event center, a café space, a trail along the river, and more, you could almost spend an entire day at the park. One of the best activities, especially during the summer, is the Rask Family Fountains, which are interactive during the day and transform into a light show during the night. Make sure you check the park's schedule before visiting too so you can catch an event!
  • Oliver Mansion - 808 W. Washington St.
One of three historic houses owned by The History Museum, Oliver Mansion is the perfect spot to take a leisure walk through this home that has amazed guests for over a century. You'll be awed by the intricate woodwork, 14 fireplaces, porcelains, prints, and statuary that fill the mansion. After exploring the interior, take a stroll through the outdoor gardens that are being restored to how they were when the Oliver family was still living at the mansion.
  • Fiddler's Hearth - 127 N. Main St.
Once you near the end of your downtown adventure, finish the night off with a great meal at one of the local restaurants, like Fiddler's Hearth. You'll find authentic Irish staples like shepherd's pie and bangers and mash as well as other Irish-inspired dishes, such as their Gaelic Steak which comes with roasted potatoes and whiskey gravy. They also have classic sandwiches you'd expect to find at a pub, but if you're looking for something new, try the lamb burger. Fiddler's Hearth often has live music, so you can eat while enjoying some local musicians.

This is just a small taste of what Downtown South Bend has to offer — we wouldn't be able to fit everything on one list! If you're looking at South Bend homes for sale, don't hesitate to contact us about how you can start your home buying journey.
