Nappanee Apple Festival
If you're considering a move to the Michiana area (Michigan/Indiana), add homes for sale in Nappanee to your shopping list. Nappanee, Indiana is a small town with cozy family-friendly neighborhoods. The homes are beautiful and affordable. They're also close to the city, so you don't have to travel far for a change of pace.

Our real estate agents invite you to visit during the annual Apple Festival. You can taste a piece of a freshly-baked 7-foot apple pie and enjoy four days of family-friendly fun.

2018 Annual Nappanee Apple Festival, September 13 - 16

Find the 43rd Annual Apple Festival in the heart of Downtown Nappanee amid local shops and businesses. 80,000 people make the trek for this 4-day event. The fresh-baked 7-foot apple pie is one of the big attractions. It's number one on the list of Indiana's Top-ten festival foods, and it's big enough to serve 800 delicious apple pie lovers.

The festival is a great place to enjoy Midwestern hospitality, food, crafts, carnival rides, and family-friendly fun. Local young ladies can participate in the Miss Apple Blossom Scholarship Contest. There's a quilt exhibit sponsored by Amish Acres and a Wings and Wheels show at Nappanee Airport. The celebration begins a week early with the 10th annual Tractor & Truck Pull on September 8, 2018, at Callander Sportsplex. Here are a few more of our favorite festival features.

An Apples Celebration

The festival's signature 7-foot pie will make its debut at on Friday, September 15, at 7:00 pm at the Cielito Lindo Restaurant. You'll see crates of apples along the streets. Food booths will serve apple favorites including fritters, dumplings, turnovers, fry pies, bread, and of course, apple pie. The festival also invites apple lovers to compete in apple baking, apple dumpling, apple peeling, and apple pie-eating contests.

5K Walk/Run - September 15, 2018, 10:00 am

Whether you're an athlete or want to participate in an early morning walk, you'll enjoy the festival run/walk. Participants can register online or print and complete an entry form and mail it by August 30. Race day registration begins at 8:30 am at City Hall. The race starts at 10:00 am.

Food and Craft Vendors

Crafter and commercial goods vendors will offer a variety of products so you can take home a festival souvenir. Food vendors will sell apple-inspired dishes and other tasty treats.

Live Entertainment

Venues throughout the festival will host live entertainment. Music lovers can enjoy Blue River Jazz, Adrienne Frailey, Memphis Underground, and more. Mike Hemmelgarn will perform comedy, juggling, and ventriloquy. The youngest festivalgoers will love Grandpa Cratchet Kids Show & Puppets and the Silly Safaris animal show. A Community Church Service will take place on Sunday morning from 9:00 am until 10:30 am.

You'll find a complete schedule of festival presentations and times on the festival entertainment page.
