We are relative novices when it comes to selling a house having only owned two houses in our life and never having sold one before (we had rented the other house we owned out for years and are now back living in it). We had talked to other brokers before Christine Tirotta and had been left pretty despondent. They did not seem to understand or value our historic property and were pretty discouraging about what they thought it would sell for and what they thought we needed to do to prepare for a sale. When we met with Christine, our fortunes took a turn for the better. She had bothered to research our house and understood it was a historic property with prospects. She very patiently worked with us for over a year as we completed fixing up another house that we planned to move into. Keep in mind--we had not signed a contract yet so her investment in helping us meant that much more to us. She touched base at just the right times, was never pushy, and with each contact, we were more and more convinced she was our person. As we moved into our final push to get the house ready to list, she was there with solid advice about what did/did not need to be done and with good recommendations of local workers who could do the work in a professional and timely fashion. We could so easily have been held up for months waiting for workmen to be available. We never considered using a different broker. Christine expertly guided us through the entire sale process. We had two full-price offers on the table the day after the house could first be shown. Christine talked us through our options, helping us assess the offers we received, and calming us as we waited to hear inspection results after accepting one of them. It was a bit of a nerve-wracking process after accepting the offer because the buyer did a lot of inspections and then took a long time to get back to us (in the end, asking for nothing)--Christine was a calm and reassuring presence through that entire time. Christine is an amazing person. She stayed with us through what ended up being a long process of getting our house ready to sell. I never once felt like she was impatient or upset with how long it was taking us to get things ready to go. She was a true cheerleader. She kept her eyes open for potential buyers even before we had officially listed so that once we did, she was ready to hit the ground running. I've already started recommending her to friends who may be in the market to sell in the coming year. Selling a house is a fraught experience. Our experience went better than we had ever expected it would and it's because we absolutely trusted and listened to Christine and followed her advice to the letter. I highly recommend her to anyone selling their house.
